How do volcanoes come about? What causes tsunamis? You will find the answers to these and many more questions in the edutainment zone of the new SENSAPOLIS adventure park at Flugfeld Böblingen-Sindelfingen.
Children and adults use their own creative ability to find out more about nature, technology and themselves, and delve into the fun world of science.
Spread out over three floors and covering 1,000 square metres, the SENSAPOLIS adventure park offers an “edutainment zone” in which fascinating themes from the worlds of research, science, nature and the environment are explained in a fun and interesting way. Here, the main focus is on joining in with the experiments and learning about the fundamental laws of nature and the latest scientific theories in an entertaining way. Each theme is in some way related to one of the attractions at SENSAPOLIS and is illustrated using a wide variety of media, such as films, photos, written descriptions or picture stories.
Visitors both young and old alike, for example, investigate the theme of height using a gently vibrating podium, the height of which changes very slightly. Anybody standing on the platform with their eyes closed loses any sense of how high up they actually are and whether they are rising or falling. There is also an explanation of how a feeling of dizzines arises and why Mount Everest is not the highest mountain in the world.
